Craftsmanship
Without Compromise

JC Watch Repair does not take every piece. The ones accepted are handled by a single set of hands — start to finish, without exception.

Inquire

01
Send an inquiry first
Before shipping anything, send an email describing your piece — the make, model, reference if known, and what you believe it needs. A response will come within 48 hours.
02
Wait for intake confirmation
Your piece will only be accepted after a brief conversation. Do not ship until you have received written confirmation. This protects your watch and ensures your commission can be properly allocated.
03
Ship via insured courier
Once confirmed, ship using a fully insured, tracked service. Double-box when possible. A pre-addressed intake envelope is available on request.
04
Assessment before any work begins
The piece is photographed, logged, and assessed on arrival. A full condition report is sent to you before a single component is touched. You authorise the work. Nothing proceeds without your approval.

How Commissions Work

The Process

A commission begins with a conversation, not a parcel. Describe the piece and what you believe it requires; a personal reply follows within 48 hours. Acceptance comes only after that exchange — never before it.

Limited Availability

Only a fixed number of commissions are accepted each quarter. This is not a constraint of capacity but a condition of the craft. Each piece receives the undivided attention of a single watchmaker, from first inspection to final return. Nothing is delegated.

Assessment First

No work begins until you hold a full written condition report, documented in photographs. You will know precisely what is wrong, what is proposed, and what it will cost before a single step is authorised. There are no exceptions.

Shipping

Every piece must travel by fully insured, tracked courier, or be sent to a business P.O. Box. Each investment is to be dispatched with a prepaid label enclosed for return. Double-boxing is expected. Responsibility for damage in transit rests with the carrier, not with JC Watch Repair.

The Guarantee

Every mechanical overhaul carries a twelve-month guarantee on the movement. It covers the work performed — not misuse, accidental damage, or any subsequent unauthorised service. The guarantee is issued in writing, in your name, with every return, and is honoured without question.

Pricing

Price is named after assessment, never before. No two movements are alike, and no figure is given sight unseen. Once quoted, you are under no obligation to proceed. The decision remains entirely yours.

Disclaimer

JC Watch Repair is an independent atelier, unaffiliated with any manufacturer or authorised service centre. Vintage and antique pieces are accepted in the knowledge that certain parts may be scarce or no longer made. Every repair is carried out to the highest standard, with period-correct components wherever they can be sourced. Timelines are estimates; the complexity of a commission and the availability of parts may extend them.
